We are thrilled to present an exciting opportunity for a committed Art and Design Teacher to join a thriving special school in Kennington. This permanent, full-time role offers the chance to inspire creativity and self-expression in students with diverse learning needs.

 

As an Art and Design Teacher, you will develop and deliver engaging lessons that encourage students to explore their artistic talents, boost confidence, and develop valuable skills. Working closely with a supportive team, you will help create an inclusive environment where every student can succeed and thrive.

 

Whether you are an experienced educator or looking to specialise in special educational needs (SEN), this role provides an excellent platform for professional growth and development in a rewarding environment.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver creative and inclusive Art and Design lessons tailored to individual student needs.
  • Foster a classroom environment that promotes creativity, inclusion, and positive learning outcomes.
  • Assess and track student progress, adapting lessons to ensure continued development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a cohesive and engaging curriculum.
  • Promote positive behaviour management and student engagement.
  • Uphold safeguarding policies to ensure the welfare and safety of all students.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • A strong knowledge of the Art and Design curriculum.
  • Experience working with students with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
  • Creativity, patience, and a passion for supporting students with diverse needs.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
